Monica Verdias

Monica VerdiasMonica Verdias is the Law Firm’s bilingual Paralegal. Whether you speak Spanish or English, Monica will be very happy to answer your questions when you call. She will most likely be the person who will greet you when you arrive at Fiumara & Milligan Law, PC. Monica will arrange your appointments with our attorneys. She will also follow-up with you later to keep you up to date on your case because all of us here at Fiumara & Milligan Law, PC believe that excellent communication is the key to excellent legal representation.

Before coming to work at our office, Monica served as a Bilingual Instructional Assistant to the Petaluma City School District. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal studies. In addition, for several years Monica continues to volunteer her personal time to work with local young adults and teenagers.

Monica plans to attend night school at Empire College School of Law with the goal of joining our firm as an Immigration attorney in order to assist the Hispanic community and other immigrants here in Sonoma and Marin Counties.

Maria Gonzalez

Maria GonzalezMaria Gonzalez is our firm’s Bilingual Administrative Assistant. She has been with our firm since April 30, 2012. She is originally from Moreno Valley, CA in Riverside County. After moving to Sonoma County 8 years ago Mrs. Gonzalez worked for a workers compensation attorney in Santa Rosa. Mrs. Gonzalez gained a great deal of experience in the legal field and helped translate for many of the firm’s Spanish speaking clients.

Mrs. Gonzalez is proud of her ability to converse with the firm’s diverse Spanish speaking clientele in their own native language and dialect. She is more than happy to help you with any questions or concerns that you might have.

In her spare time Mrs. Gonzalez enjoys spending quality time with her two children and her husband. She enjoys attending bible study groups and socializing with people who share her common interests. She hopes to return to college in the evenings or weekends to further her education and work towards a legal secretary degree.

Vania Ortega 


Ms. Ortega is already working on a plan to advance to a paralegal position at the firm.

Hence, Ms. Ortega will commence her paralegal studies at Empire College in the fall.

Vania was born in Michoacán, Mexico, and raised right here in Sonoma County. Ms. Ortega graduated from Elsie Allen High School, in 2010. Before she started working at Fiumara & Milligan Law, PC, Ms. Ortega worked at a local retirement home where she found working with seniors, as a CNA to be not only challenging, but extremely rewarding.
Ms. Ortega feels that she will be able to transfer those same skills and that same passion to the law firm’s clients who come to us with many serious challenges and legal issues.
In her spare time, Ms. Ortega enjoys watching movies, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. Ms. Ortega learned Sign Language on her own so that she can better communicate with her nephew which shows how willing she is to break down barriers to communicate more effectively.
She will often be the first person you will see when you come into the Law Firm for an appointment; her warm and welcoming smile will surely put you at ease. WE are here to serve you.
